Paramount Pictures once again tasked GRADIENT with supporting the Blu-Ray release of Star Trek Beyond during NY Comic Con, carefully designing a multi-touchpoint experience within a 20’ x 20’ booth to create shareable fan experience and gain publicity.
The experience featured two sharable photo activations:
1. BEHIND THE SCENES: A fan’s dream finally comes true! – Fans were able to play a part in the Star Trek Beyond movie, creating a short shareable GIF of themselves acting in the captain’s chair.
2. POSTER PHOTO BOOTH: Guests were given a photo opportunity to be the main character in a digitally shared Star Trek Beyond poster. (Captain Kirk’s figure would be replaced by fan as in mockup to right).
Selected as one of the “Top 5 coolest things to do at ComicCon”, the activation significantly overshot its media impression, generating nearly $5M in social media impressions
